Check area before buying.
I checked that I was in a serviceable location before I purchased and am thrilled with the performance of the product. I am getting 50 mbps down / 5 mbps up and a 50ping on average.

useless paperweight
Make sure they actually service your area. I checked online prior to purchase but when I attempted to activate the device it didnt work. Walmart will not accept a return for the device or service. Over 150 down the drain before christmas. I would suggest looking elsewhere.

5.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/22/2022working greatit's working good for my location. check and see if you have 5G in your town. then put that address as the one you at to check availability. when i first got it going it was slower at 25MB download. it beed getting faster. I had DSL( internet over phone line) it would only do 2-6MB. so i was happy at 25MB and now 60-90MB it amazing from Straight Talk Home internet. It runs on Verizon people says it same box at Verizon just Straight Talk branded. I have Google Nest mesh Wifi router hooked up and ot shows the speeds.Becky

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser12/13/2022Absolutely abysmal customer service. Returned!I purchased this with the intent of using it as my internet service in lieu of DSL or waiting a few weeks for the cable company to install a modem. (Because that's something that still needs to be done in today's world apparently.) this was a mistake. The device got trapped in booting and would never activate. After contacting support and getting 3 different reps and multiple "we'll call you back at x time."* They finally activated it. it would say it's booting, but at least it worked most of the time. But, in this process they took it from my account that I registered and made a new account. One that had an email different from my own. When attempting to login to setup a payment method I realized they deregistered the device. And since the device is registered to an account, I could not claim it. And the support team would not even say the exact email it was registered to, but did slip and reveal it was my email minus one letter. Thanks to their typo I was unable to access my device. Multiple calls later revealed they couldn't do anything without the email being verified... the email I had no access to. And since I used a straight talk cards to activate it, they couldn't even use my credit card to verify it that way. (And at this point I would not trust ST with any card.) Eventually they told me to return the device, but since the service worked at all, they refused to refund the $45 card. So i guess if you need 7 days of Internet before they break it and want to waste 10 hours of your life, great deal. TL;DR device didn't work, rep fixed it by breaking the account and any way of renewing the service. Waste of time and money. Avoid them and just use any other service. Spoiler: you've got a 1 on 5 chance they'll actually call you back. So have your information handy as you give it to them to get redirected.Josh

2.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/16/2022Good idea bad presentationThis item should not be sold unless the service is available in more areas. After purchasing, I found out that the item is not available in any of the areas around Tyler, including Tyler. The description should have a service map for customers before purchasing.Gregory

1.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/04/2022pretty poorlySo bought this router... Lets just say i tried 5 different addresses and NONE of them were serviceable. Why sell something in an area where it doesnt work?! Complete waste of money... My straight talk cell phone works here but I cant get the internet? Sounds shady to me.Jessica

3.00 out of 5 stars reviewVerified Purchaser11/03/20225G isn't Everywhere, this router should have 4G LTEStraight Talk is good service, 5G isn't everywhere in 2022. this realy shoul've had 4G LTE as well. I had originally Bought 3 with high hopes to give two to others this holiday. Mine didn't work out of the box. I couldn't buy a plan. I couldn't access router settings without the plan, I have cell phones that work with Straight Talk without issue. but unlimited internet as of right now isn't worth the money for the savings. 45 US dollars for a plan thats unlimited is a good value with inflation at an all time high for nothing that works. I suggest waiting on it til 5G gets better in the coming years. For me mine just sits collecting dust on a shelf til it gets activated. I'm one of a few people who actually wants good unlimited internet at a good price instead of paying an arm and a legs worth of bills each month to the cable company who likes to throttle us on a gigabit connection. 50mbs down and 10mbs up is basically 4G LTE. I used to see bazling speeds with Xtream home internet. Straight Talk never did that on my cell phone plan. I've been a member for years now.michael
