Workhorse of a device. Solid all-rounder w/extras.
I'll be brief. Great device all around. Solid battery life. Wonderful screen. Incredible audio features (though Dolby Atmos and the high quality codec are not on by default) especially when using Bluetooth. Dangerous with out a case. Feel like it's going down. I've no real complaints, however. I use the device heavily. VPN enabled. Games, productivity (mmmm, this is the first Note I'm actually using the S-Pen. Doesn't feel forced).

Major features do not work
I bought this phone in mid October and there are several major issues. The Android auto interface does not work for Google maps, which is the main function I use. Once you plug it in, you can't control navigation at all. If you have it started before plugging your phone in, it will finish the current navigation. Additionally, the phone consistently does not fully charge when using the official Samsung fast charger. It reaches a point and then tapers off, all while on the charger. (I leave it in overnight so it doesn't move.)

Work horse that still holds up
boasting solid processing, expandable memory, and enough RAM to run most apps without issue, I can still rely on the Note 9 for daily demands... and since it has turned out that 5G is hardly game changing, the largest downside is null...

Display failing - right after warranty ended
This was my absolute favorite phone of all time. I LOVED it. I had literally not a single complaint about it...until yesterday, when I picked up my phone and saw a bright neon pink line going vertically down the entire screen. It does not go away no matter what I do. This phone was never dropped, mishandled or submerged in water, nothing like that. And yet I have a horrible pink line obstructing everything on the screen now. And of course this happened right after the warranty on my VERY EXPENSIVE PHONE expired. A cursory search online reveals that this is a known issue with Samsung's Edge Screen phones, however I'm not going to hold my breath to see if they recall/fix it and do right by their customers. I should not have to pay to repair a phone with a factory defect.

Totally in love with this phone!
I bought this phone the end of November but after today decided I should leave a review. We just had over 10 inches of snow here in Ohio. I went out today to walk my husky in the snow. My dog and I were thoroughly enjoying the first major snow of the season so i had my phone out a few times taking pics and videos. When i returned home, I realized that I didn't have my phone with me. I retraced my steps 4 times before I found my phone buried in the deep snow drift shortly before it got dark out. It had been buried in the snow for at least 1 hour 15 minutes when I found it and when I picked it up, it was still on and all functions were working properly! I did have an alert that moisture was detected in the charging port but that went awsy after about 15 minutes. Unbelievable. I am so thankful for this well designed phone designed to withstand these elements!!! It also takes some great pics and has amazing battery life!!

    Expensive Messy Experience
I thought Samsung meant the superior products. But I must say my experience with Note 9 Unlocked version does say something else. S Pen not working and WiFi calling is not available since this is unlocked device. If you are buying a Note 9 to use S Pen, make sure you are getting phone without this pen connection issues. If you are buying unlock version, buy unlocked only if you don't need to use wifi calling option. Disappointed

    Thank You Samsung.
After all the issues with the Note 7 and losing lots of money on trying to find a way home compatible. I did love my note 8 , but I must say that my new NOTE 9 is in another class all by itself. In my opinion and I've owned a ton of smartphones. The NOTE 9 is the best phone ever assembled. THANK YOU SAMSUNG!!!!!!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nothing much new besides the S Pen.
I received my new note9 a week or so so. Not very happy with it coming from the note 8. I'll probably return the note9. Luckily, I haven't sent my note 8 for the trade in yet.

    Complete device
I upgraded my Galaxy S8 to the Note 9. I had been a Note user previously with the Note 3, Note 4, Note 7, then had to go back to my Note 4 which stopped working and I ended up getting the S8 as I needed a phone. I skipped on the Note 8 as I had just gotten the S8. I was enjoying the S8 as my daily device and the size was actually nice so I was a bit hesitant in changing devices to a much bigger one but I am glad I made the switch. I really did miss the Note features. While I would not considering myself a heavy dedicated SPen user, I definitely use it during the day for work and other activities. The phone is fast, snappy, much better than my S8 due to the 845 processor and the added 2GB of ram (6GB compare to 4GB on the S8). The speed is noticeable and opening apps stored in memory without lag or delays or having to restart is huge. Thank you Samsung for fixing this with the Note. The screen is amazing. there is nothing like it out there right now and SAMSUNG knows how to make them stand out. It is vibrant, colorful and crisp. The speakers are great with the stereo sound that I now keep my volume to about 50% to 60%; they are loud. The camera of course is nothing short of amazing. It is one of the best while I do believe there are other performers that can take better pictures but as an overall camera for both pictures and videos, it impresses and the quality is great. I love it and use it as my main camera for all my family pictures. The overall experience with the device is great. I am happy I made the switch and I know I will be enjoying this for a while. Now we just need SAMSUNG to keep the updates on nice timely manner (Android Pie).
