The good reviews are correct!
So far the pump.is great. Ive been using it for about 2 weeks and the water is clear as can be. The intex pump that came with the pool sucked.... So this upgrade from 1500 to 2500 is really nice. I read the reviews before I bought it and so far so good. I have the round intex 18 foot x 5 feet deep.

Only for use with Intex above ground pools.
If you are using this pump to replace an above ground Intex pool pump it likely will work great. I purchased this pump for a different reason......to vacuum out an inground pool, and for that purpose it is useless because of the priming mechanism. This pump is incredibly difficult to prime, it literally needs every inch of hose filled with water before it will prime, any air in any hose and you can't prime it. After an hour of messing with this pump I got it to prime, and it worked great. But I'm not going to spend an hour to get a pump to work each time. This pump is for Intex above ground pools only. Don't bother with it for any other use.

    SwitchLess
I'm somewhat disappointed with my purchase. with In the Swim. My pool filter has no switch button as shown on photo or as described. Im happy with Walmart for delivering my purchase earlier than expected. Have it up and running, but as mentioned this doesn't have the switch in the back next to the timer. Having that switch in the back makes it easier for me to work with. Ive purchased the same ones before and have always had the button. Big disappointment.

    Krystal Clear better than FlowClear
we received a bestway filter pump with our pool order. the ring holding the canister lid in place got a crack in it during the third month of use. we could not find a replacement part online so we contacted customer service. it took 4 days for a reply and by that time we ordered the intex pump so we wouldn't have to drain the pool, clean it and start over. this is so much better and all around easier to install/use.

    Great pump for money
Like that is was so easy to hook up and even fit with hoses from old sand filter pump. I also liked that it was able to clean out majority of algae we had in our pool that other pump couldn't making it clearer after just 2 days of constant running. I like that it has a timer so I can set-and-forget it. Pump a bit on noisier side compared to our last pump but it works great and has stronger flow so minor issue in retrospect.

    Excellent replacement pump.
Intex 2500 GPH pump was an awesome pick to replace the original 1500 GPH pump that came with my 18 foot pool. The original pump only lasted 7 months and did an ok job, but the power of this pump exceeded my expectations. Everything I need to get started was included. The only new thing about this pump is a timer that must be turned on prior to starting.

    Faulty Product
I have an Easy Set pool. The pump that came with it was very weak. I did some research and decided to upgrade the pump to this one (2,500 GPH). The price was good and I ended up ordering it. With my research, I was aware that I needed to buy adapters since the original hoses that came with the pool were 1.25 inches and this pump needed 1.5 inch. With that said, after watching countless videos, I thought the installation would be nice and easy. I was never able to use the pump. Mine was defective and would not turn on at all. I did various trouble shooting (check for air in the hoses, check for leaks, make sure the hoses were properly installed). Nothing worked. I reached out to the company that sells this product for any suggestions. Needless to say, the pump that was sent to me had an issue with the motor. I am in the process of returning it and ordering a new one elsewhere.

Great Long Lasting Pump You'll Love
In 2012 I bought an Intex pool that came with the 1500hp pump. That little pump had very little circulation so I did a little research and spent $200 on this 2500 pump. It was a huge difference. I could angle the outtake and shoot water clean across the pool. Angling it one way made shocking super easy because it would whirlpool the water. 2020 Comes and I cleaned and filled my pool and hooked everything up and my pump finally died. What a shock, instead of going up the price dropped to $77. It arrived in 4 days which wasn't bad. I see a lot of pools now and a lot have this 2500hp pump and I was surprised Walmart doesn't stock these.

    Excellent Upgrade
I purchased this pump to upgrade on my 14x42 Pro Series pool, also purchased from Walmart last summer. You will not be disappointed in this pump. True, Intex sometimes leaves pumps to be desired, as far as reliability, but I have had this pump going now all summer, and what a difference. Easy to install, no cutting of holes. You will have to purchase a filter hose conversion kit, part # 4550, and skimmer filter pump adapter, part # 4552, available also on Amazon. Parts are under $20 for both. I am not sure of the hose size I used, but I can tell you it is the same size as the outlet that originally came with pool. I did not have to upgrade vacuum or vacuum hoses, the ones that came with pool work fine. I read stories of how pool skimmer canister and/or hoses collapse, not in my case. I used the same strainer basket, to keep large debris from being sucked down into filter, suction is strong enough to keep it in place. I also did not buy the plungers, I felt no need for them. The filter cartridge itself stays pretty clean all week. Change them once a week, then add a 3" chlorine tablet to skimmer basket, and two 3" chlorine tablets to the floating dispenser. Pool stays clear and clean. Vacuuming is a breeze, as the circulation keeps the surface pretty clean, and everything else settles to bottom in basically one spot. What used to take an hour to vacuum with the old fish aquarium pump, is now done in about 15 minutes. Pump comes with a timer, I set it to run 4 hours a day, the recommended time as per manufacturer. Pump is also quiet, no rattling of teeth, as I used to refer to the old pump. Also, you will have to buy the metal clamps, versus the plastic ones used for the hoses. As the plastic ones just blow right off. So, if you are thinking of an upgrade, don't hesitate to try this one.
